I work from my home studio in Sussex but cover from South East London down to the Sussex Coast.
With over 14 years running my small business and a background and passion in textile design, I am committed to help you add the finishing touches to your home.
I grew up in Somerset, hence the name of my business. I studied Textile Design in Nottingham, specialising in weave. I have a passion, some may call it an obsession with textiles in all forms.

I don’t outsource the work so I can have complete control over the quality of the finished product and you will always be dealing with me directly.

We’ve never had bespoke curtains or blinds made before, having always used the well-known brands and assuming it cheaper, but going bespoke was the best decision for quality, knowledge, flexibility and creativity. We ended up with more than we could have hoped for, including creative use of off cuts to make cushion covers, dyed beautifully, and a table runner. We have also had help adjusting our curtains for a new track system and are about to work with Mel again on new projects.
It’s been excellent value for money and a more reassuring all-round service.

A selection of wall hangings and cushions made by hand in my Sussex studio. I use natural linens and try to recycle and reuse fabrics where I can. I predominately use block printing and improv patchwork techniques that I have learnt from various local craft classes I have taken.
